Question:
Changing members status from held to normal

Solution:
Update members record from held to normal status. This is performed by searching for a list of held members, saving the output as a CSV file, modifying the CSV file and updating the existing members through the ListManager User Interface.

Get and configure a list of members to import
  1.    Login as a server administrator.
  2.    Navigate to: Members: "View Members".
  3.    Click the dropdown dialog box above the list of members.
  4.    Choose the "Show: held (bad email addresses)" option from the dropdown dialog box. This will return a list of bad members.
  5.    Export these members: Click the Excel icon in the top right corner of the interface.
  6.    Save the file in CSV format.

Modify the member data CSV file
  1.    Open the CSV file that was created in the previous step (step 6: "Get and configure a list of members to import").
  2.    Delete all of the members who do not qualify based on user-defined criteria.
  3.    Delete all of the columns except the EmailAddr_ and MemberType_ columns.
  4.    Change the MemberType_ field from held to normal for all of the desired members.
  5.    Save the file.
 
Load updated member data CSV file
  1.    Before importing the CSV file, navigate to Utilities: Administration: Server: Server Settings: "Security" (This can only be done by a Server Administrator).
  2.    Ensure that  "CSV member imports can change non-normal status" is set to "yes".
  3.    Navigate to: Members: Add Members: Import Members from CSV File
  4.    Action: Use type setting in CSV file.
  5.    Update existing members?  is set to "yes".
  6.    Browse to the CSV file that contains the updated member data.
  7.    Click "Import" to update the member records.

NOTE: A confirmation message will be displayed indicating the import process is in progress.

NOTE: This solution applies only to Software customers. Hosted customers cannot perform this operation because they do not have access to Security under Server Settings. Customers who are hosted must contact Support and have their case escalated so it can be reviewed by the Escalation team before the import may be completed.
