How does URL tracking work?
Solution:
URL tracking is useful to build metrics gauging how active members are engaged in a mailing campaign. URL tracking also captures which specific links are most popular.
URL tracking works by replacing the actual URL with a unique URL to the ListManager web interface.
When a user clicks the link, they will be sent to the ListManager web interface. As the incoming URL is unique per user and mailing, this information can be logged. The web interface then redirects the browser to the true destination URL. This process happens instantaneously and transparent to the user.
When creating a mailing, the following code is added to URLs to indicate that they should be replaced with tracking URLs when the message is sent.
