Resolution
Typical symptoms:
- A mailing is sending to 0 members despite a previous mailing to the same recipients sending to all members.
- A mailing is sending to 0 members despite the list having members in it.
Causes:
There can be up to three causes:
- A segment is selecting 0 members.
This is common especially if a segment is created incorrectly. If a segment selects 0 members out of all possible members then the mailing will complete with 0 members sent.
- "Allow duplicate postings:" is set to no, and the mailing is identical to a previous mailing.
If a mailing is sent to the same group of people and the mailing is almost identical, the post will be rejected based on the "Allow duplicate postings:" setting located in "Utilities: List Settings: Discussion Group Features: Message Rejection Rules: Same Message Rules". This is common if administrators wish to test using segments rather then the included "test" feature.
- "Allow cross-posting:" is set to no, and the mailing is being sent to multiple lists or segments.
